Early Swiss 8-day Crystal Ball Desk Clock
This is an early example of a Swiss mechanical crystal ball desk clock.
This beautiful clock possesses an 8-day mechanical movement manufactured in the early 1900s by an unknown Swiss manufacturer.
The quality of the movement is impeccable, typical of the clocks from that period.
The clock case is made of brass, beautifully silvered, retaining the original patina.
The clock's shape is meant to look like a magnifying sphere, giving the impression that all the mechanics inside are over-dimensioned. Also, this effect allows the watcher to study the moving parts.
The dial provides multiple functions for the reader: day, date, month, moon phase, seconds dial and the classic time. All these functions can be adjusted by pressing the buttons, beautifully aligned on the circumference of the case.
