Early 1800's Oak Painted Dial Longcase Clock By James Coates In Horncastle
This is a wonderful oak longcase clock by James Coates of Horncastle.
The case is made out of solid English oak, French polished in a traditional way with a rich honey oak finish.
The full length opening door is beautifully inlaid with a light wood shell pattern.
The superior part of the clock is supported by two brass ended columns, finishing with two scrolled swan neck pediments with a centre brass finial.
The dial is hand painted, and beautifully decorated with a floral pattern.
The 8-day movement is powered by two weights and the time keeping is achieved by the metal rod pendulum.
The clock is striking the hour on a bell producing the iconic and traditional clock sound.
